Our works have commenced on Highways England’s A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme, under delivery by the A14 Integrated Delivery Team, a joint venture between Costain, Skanska, Balfour Beatty and Atkins-Jacobs. We are currently undertaking pond creation and planting works. The pond creation will allow for 4 wildlife lagoons, designed to provide new areas of habitat and associated biodiversity. These works included the installation of Bentomat Geosynthetic Clay Liner prior to dressing all ponds with a high clay content top soil.
We have started the first stage of the planting works which will form 29.5 miles of new native hedgerow. Over 283,000 new trees and shrubs will be planted over the next 12 months.
